Hi! I’m Mindy, and I’m so glad you’re here!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I would love to sit down over a cup of coffee and have a good ol’ fashioned, face-to-face conversation to connect with each of you. Since that’s not reality though, I’ve decided to take some time to tell you a little bit about myself here. I’m usually a much better listener than I am a talker, so this is my one chance to step outside of my comfort zone and talk about…me! Hehe!
If you have a blog or website with an “About Me” page, please link it up at the bottom of the page. I would love to get a chance to read a little bit about you too!
A few of my favorites:
I could never choose just one! This website is a display of some of my favorites though.
This changes regularly, but right now it’s Build Your Kingdom Here by Rend Collective. I. LOVE. THIS. SONG.
Oh man, I’m a bit of a foodie, so this is really hard for me to pick a favorite too. Honestly, my favorite food is probably anything that I didn’t have to make myself (even though I LOVE to cook) because that very rarely happens! Food just tastes different when someone else makes it for you. My husband does not believe me on this, but it’s true!
Hmm….eating out is a rare luxury for us these days so I am happy going out to any restaurant! Except McDonalds. Blech. I do NOT like McDonalds.
The Bible. Apart from it being an all-time best seller, I happen to know the Author and I think He’s pretty awesome!
I would have to say that The Office is probably my favorite TV show of all time. We honestly don’t watch a lot of TV, but I also LOVE watching Shark Tank every week with my hubby. I love watching other entrepreneurs and hearing about other small businesses! Oh and Downtown Abbey. Yes, I did get caught up in all of the drama despite my best efforts not to!
Owning a small business and being a mom of 2 littles, I don’t have a whole lot of time in my life for “just-for-fun” hobbies right now. Playing piano, sewing, cooking, crocheting, and designing are some of my favorite things to do though. Due to the season of life that we are in, cooking and designing are the only things on this list that I get to do on a regular basis, because they are essential for our family’s survival
Some random facts about me:
One thing I could never live without:
Coffee. And Jesus. Sorry, I know that’s 2, but both are essential to me getting through the day!
Some of my worst habits:
Taking a glass of water to bed and then leaving the cup on my nightstand the next morning. I’ve been know to have a collection of 6-7 cups sitting there at a time…oops! I also have a bad habit of starting a load of laundry in the morning and then forgetting about it until the next day…oops again! Trust me, I have many more bad habits, but I’m sure you don’t want to be here all day reading about them!
One of the most awesome things I’ve done:
We had the privilege of having our second child in the comfort of our own home. It was almost an (accidental) unassisted home birth, but thankfully the midwife arrived 20 minutes before our sweet baby arrived. You can read the whole story here if your curious about the details or just like reading birth stories like I do!
One of the hardest things I’ve ever done:
God chose to take 2 of our babies home to be with Him before we ever had the privilege of meeting them. Saying goodbye to these sweet babies, knowing that I will never meet them in this life has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
My most embarrassing moment:
After college, I taught for a few years at a Christian high school. One day after using the bathroom, I walked into my (full) classroom and went up to the whiteboard to start writing out some assignments. I noticed a collective gasp come from the student body sitting behind me. The gasp was followed by whispers and some giggling. I turned around to see what the problem was, and one of the girls in the class ran up to the front of the room and whispered something in my ear. What she whispered made my face turn red hot as I ran from the room. Somehow, I had tucked the entire back of my skirt into my underwear before I left the bathroom. Yes. For real. Then I stood in front of an entire classroom full of high school boys and girls. Embarrassed does not even begin to describe how I felt that day!
One of my biggest dreams:
To own a cow….and chickens…and goats! Unfortunately, my husband does not share in this dream of mine so it will most likely never become a reality for me. Which is actually, probably for the best because I don’t like cleaning up poop, or getting near dirty animals, or getting up early.
One of my favorite people:
My husband. Although our marriage certainly isn’t perfect, he is my very best friend. He takes such good care of me and our kids, and he treats us like royalty. I’ve never met anyone with as much of a servant’s heart as he has. I guess you can say I lucked out when I got to marry this guy.
